To provide the service, Trabú requires the following documentation:
- Credit card.
- Identification (INE for Mexican nationals and passport or ID for foreign clients).
- Valid driver’s license (National or International) ORIGINAL with a minimum of one year of validity.
- Minimum age of 18 years old.
- Trabú reserves the right to decline a reservation if the client does not meet the complete rental requirements or if there is any inconsistency in the documentation.
In the event of an accident or roadside assistance that results in fines or towing, these expenses will be solely and exclusively the responsibility of the customer and are not covered by any insurance. Toll fees or road tolls are the direct responsibility of the customer and are not included in the rental.
Trabú offers additional responsibilities and/or protections that are not included in the rental rate. These can be acquired at the counter for protection and peace of mind. They should not be seen as an obligation but rather as a necessity for your safety and that of your family, and to avoid unforeseen additional expenses.
PLI (Third Party Damage): This is liability coverage for damages to third parties in their person or property caused by the rented vehicle. It does not include legal assistance.
CDW (Collision Damage Waiver): This protection reduces the payment liability in case of partial or total damages caused to the rented vehicle, subject to a deductible according to the requested vehicle. The deductible is applied when the damages exceed the stipulated deductible for collision, fire, or theft. If the damages are lower than the deductible, the total value of the damage will be charged.
NOTE: Rental vehicles must have this CDW coverage. If CDW is not included, the customer must acquire this coverage directly at the counter. Failure to do so will result in the application of the guarantee policy, and the customer will be 100% responsible for damages and/or up to the total vehicle value.
Trabú does not have agreements with third parties such as credit cards, websites, reservation engines, insurers, and/or banking institutions for the protection of damages to the vehicle. These types of protections are handled on a reimbursable basis, and the only person protected is the cardholder or insured party. The customer should review the process with their insurance company. Therefore, it is not applicable in our rental contract.
This coverage does not include other parts of the vehicle (such as windows, tires, rims, etc.), administrative fees, or accessories (such as GPS, child seats, personal items, etc.).
SLI (Supplemental Liability Insurance): This coverage is an extension and complement to the liability insurance, with coverage of up to 3,000,000.00 pesos for damages to third parties. It also provides legal assistance if required.
This coverage is optional but highly recommended, considering the new reform to the law on roads, bridges, and transportation in the Mexican Republic, specifically in Articles 63 Bis, 64, and 74 Bis of the agreement issued on 07/2014.
TP (Theft Protection): This optional protection partially releases the renter from liability in case of total loss of the vehicle due to theft. If the customer does not accept TP and the vehicle is stolen, the customer will be responsible for the replacement cost of the vehicle, up to the maximum liability amount equivalent to the vehicle’s value. If the customer accepts TP, they will only be responsible for the deductible payment (20% of the vehicle’s value).
LDW (Loss Damage Waiver): This coverage eliminates all liability for damages or total or partial theft, providing superior coverage compared to credit cards or any other means. It allows you to control your budget and avoid additional charges. This coverage is invalidated if the rental policies agreed upon at the time of signing the rental contract are violated. This protection does not cover the loss or damage of keys, plates, fines, and/or towing.
PAI (Personal Accident Insurance): With this coverage, the customer is covered for medical expenses in case of an accident in the rented vehicle, covering only the authorized passenger capacity of the vehicle.
TGI (Rims, Tires, and Glass Coverage): This coverage eliminates all customer liability for damages to the tires, rims, and glass of the rented vehicle. Terms and conditions apply as stated in the rental agreement signed on the rental day. (Coverage does not apply if the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs).
SRA (Roadside Assistance): This coverage provides the required roadside assistance for the rented vehicle, such as jump-start, tire change, locksmith service in case of locked keys in the vehicle, and fuel (fuel cost not included). Restrictions apply.
At Trabú, we offer the option of additional drivers at a cost of 5 USD per day.
Fuel is not included in the total rental cost. The customer must return the rented vehicle with the same fuel level as received, as stated in the rental contract. There are no refunds for excess fuel. If there is a fuel shortage, the following charges will apply:
- Category A vehicles: 10 USD for each eighth of a tank missing.
- Category B vehicles: 15 USD for each eighth of a tank missing.
- Category C vehicles: 20 USD for each eighth of a tank missing.
Trabú allows a grace period of 30 minutes for vehicle return. After this time, the following conditions apply:
For each additional hour, there will be a charge of 15 USD depending on the rented vehicle, up to a maximum of 3 hours. After a delay of 3 hours, a full day will be charged.
Trabú offers the alternative of returning the rental vehicle to any of its nationwide branches. This service incurs an additional and independent fee from the rental, which will be applied to the vehicle return. The fee varies based on the distance between the departure and return branches.
Trabú will honor all received reservations, provided that they meet all rental requirements. However, we reserve the right to decline a reservation if we notice that the provided information is incorrect or has been altered (e.g., altered name, altered price, etc.).
Trabú offers its services based on vehicle categories, and we will respect the code sent by our associate. It is important to clarify that the advertised vehicle images are for illustration purposes only. We will honor the requested category but not necessarily the specific vehicle shown in the illustrative image.
It is important to mention that Trabú will wait for a period of two hours from the pickup time indicated in your reservation, provided that the customer sends us their flight information. If the flight is delayed or rescheduled, the customer must call or email us to notify any changes in their pickup schedule.
If flight information is not provided within the two-hour timeframe, Trabú reserves the right to handle the customer’s request based on vehicle availability.
After a two-hour delay, the reservation will be considered a No Show, and we may or may not honor the reservation depending on availability.
Trabú will handle the cancellation of a reservation as follows:
If the customer made a reservation through a third party (broker, OTA, GDS, travel agency), they must request a refund directly from them, following the terms and conditions agreed upon with the booking channel.
If the customer made their reservation on Trabú’s portals and sales channels, they must request a refund by email at trabufinanzas@gmail.com or by phone at +52 55 4008 60 29. The refund will be subject to the following terms and conditions:
Reservations canceled more than 72 hours prior to pickup will not incur any penalty.
Reservations canceled within 72 hours prior to pickup will incur a 10% penalty of the total amount.
Reservations canceled within 36 hours prior to pickup are non-refundable.
If the customer does not meet the rental requirements upon arrival at the counter, no refund will be provided.
It is important to note that in the case of a refund, Trabú is not responsible for any commission fees credited to the customer by the banking institution handling the transaction.
In the event of an accident, the driver must immediately and directly inform Trabú to proceed with the insurance company, which requires the driver to be present at the scene of the incident and authorized under the lease agreement. Additionally, the driver must present a valid driver’s license with a photo. Failure to follow the process for an accident or traffic incident automatically voids the protection.
Trabú will request a security deposit, which is only a hold on your credit card. The amount of the hold depends on the vehicle category and can range from 600 USD to 1500 USD. The deposit can be reduced based on the coverage options the customer chooses at the counter, either individually or as part of a promotional package.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT CASH
For security reasons, cash deposits for the security deposit and/or debit cards are not accepted. Only credit cards that meet the following requirements are accepted:
Must be personalized and have a minimum of 1 year of history.
We do not accept credit cards issued by department stores or digital platforms.
Trabú offers additional services such as baby seats, GPS, travel assistance, and SIM cards. The process is as follows:
These services can only be acquired at the counter during the Check-In process.
These services are subject to availability. If an additional service is damaged or stolen, the customer will be responsible for the replacement costs (baby seat and/or GPS).
Customers can make payments in 3 interest-free installments during the period from March to April 2023, provided that the total amount is greater than $10,000.00 pesos (ten thousand pesos 00/100 M.N.), plus VAT, and they have a credit card from any of the following participating banks.
The approval and monthly charges will be the responsibility of the customer’s selected bank at the time of payment. Trabú is not responsible for any future clarifications or cancellations regarding recurring charges. In such cases, the customer must resolve the issue directly with their bank.
Trabú offers roadside assistance to all customers without exception. Charges will apply only if the customer does not purchase the SRA coverage (Roadside Assistance). If the need for roadside assistance is due to negligence, mishandling, or misuse of the vehicle, the customer will incur a charge based on the quote for the damages incurred. It is important to note that Trabú offers vehicles suitable for tourist and everyday use, not for off-road areas, beaches, unpaved roads, or rocky terrains.
